Finland and the USA secured the first golds in the Challenger Series

23 teams participated in the first stage of the 2025-26 Challenger Series Britannia Cup. Spectators witnessed early what the best synchro teams offer for the season.

Junior

This category had 13 teams fighting for podium spots. The 2025 World Champion Teams Elite Junior from the USA  shone once again amid strong competition. They emerged as the winner of the Britannia Cup.

Team Dream Edges Junior of Finland led after the Short Program with 74.05 points. Despite two falls in the Free Skate, they secured the silver medal with a total score of 196.22 points.

Despite the two falls in the Free Skate, Team Dream Edges Junior who led after the Short Program still went ahead of the Bronze medalist Team Skyliners Junior by a wide margin.

While the other Finnish Team Mystique (total: 183.11) and Swedish Team Moonlights (total: 155.78) and Team Spirit (total: 154.62) performed well in the game, the performance of the British Team Icicles Junior is noteworthy. They scored a total of 166.50 which placed them in the fifth place. We will be eager to know how they continue to shine among other traditionally strong players.

Senior

Among the 10 teams competing there were Helsinki Rockettes, Team Unique and Haydenettes who are 2025 World Championships medalists and so the race received much attention.

While Helsinki Rockettes (total score: 226.72) demonstrated improvement from the Finnish first qualification (read the review here), Team Unique (total score: 237.44) continued their strong lead since the season start and led the race scoring highest points in both programmes.

Haydenettes (total score: 221.86) skated clean twice and took the bronze medal home.

The Challenger Series serves as an important competitive platform to draws teams of different characters and locations together.

The Britannia Cup highlighted current trends, including an increased use of jumps within programs, contributing to the technical and artistic development of synchronized skating at both Junior and Senior levels.
